Myanmar Visa for Dutch Citizens

Visiting Myanmar provides a fascinating look at history, with ancient palaces to see and visit. For visitors who enjoy natural wonders, there are white, sandy beaches to relax and natural parks to explore. The electronic visa process is easy for Dutches since Myanmar introduced its electronic visa system in 2014.

Dutch citizens can apply for a Myanmar visa anywhere they have access to the internet. Once the simple application has been completed and all required documentation attached, a visa response should be generated for applicants within 3 business days.

The Myanmar visa for Dutch passport holders is available in two forms, the tourist visa and the business traveler visa. Each visa is valid for a single entry into Myanmar and is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. Different visas provide for different lengths of stay, with the Myanmar tourist visa for Netherlandics, allowing up to a 28-day stay and the business visa allowing for a 70-day stay.

Myanmar Visa Requirements for Dutch

To apply for the Myanmar visa from Netherlands, the online application form needs to be entirely completed. Once the form has been filled out, several documents are required, including:

  • A passport with a minimum of 6 months remaining
  • A passport biographic page scanned in
  • A color photograph less than 3 months old
  • A passport page for the visa stamp
  • An email address
  • A credit or debit card

The color photograph submitted with the application has to meet certain specifications:

  • Taken with a white background
  • 4.8 cm x 3.8 cm dimensions
  • Provides a clear view of the entire face from the front
  • No hats or headgear
  • No filters can be used
  • Religious headwear must not obstruct the view of the mouth, nose, and eyes
  • 70% of the photograph must be used for the head

If the Myanmar visa requirements comply, the application will be processed. If all requirements have been met, the applicant should receive a response within 3 business days. Any notifications about delays or further documentation will be delivered to the provided email address.

Apply for a Myanmar Visa from the Netherlands

Applicants need to complete the online application form, which requires answers to certain questions and specific information, including:

  • The full name of the applicant
  • The applicant’s date of birth
  • The applicant’s passport issuance and expiration date
  • The applicant’s hotel information

Applicants must state the port of entry that they will be coming into the country from and their planned travel dates within Myanmar. Travelers are only allowed to stay in registered resorts, hotels, inns, or guest houses.

Children under 7 years of age can be endorsed on a parent or guardian’s passport. Children will also be allowed to travel into Myanmar on their parent’s e-visa as long as they complete the minor’s section of the online application form.

After completing the application for either a Burma tourist or business visa for Dutches, applications must have all required documentation attached and the associated fees paid. Double-check all provided information to ensure no errors are present, which can delay the application.

Applicants will receive an email confirming the application has been received and will be processed, generally within an hour of submitting the application. The approved visa will be sent to the applicant’s provided email address within 3 business days of the application being submitted.

Travelers need to keep a copy of their e-visa during their entire trip to Myanmar. A printed-out copy of the approved visa should be presented at the port of entry for passport control. Travelers with an eVisa will be unable to travel in the restricted section of Myanmar.

Netherlandics or Dutch passport holders with an electronic visa can only enter Myanmar from one of 8 ports of entry. The ports of entry, that e-visa holders can enter from, include 3 Myanmar airports, 3 Myanmar land borders with Thailand, and 2 Myanmar land borders with India.

Myanmar Visa on Arrival for Dutch Citizens

Dutch citizens who hold a valid passport cannot get a visa upon arrival in Myanmar. Instead, these citizens must apply for an electronic visa from their computer or schedule an appointment with the Myanmar embassy in the Netherlands. Obtaining a visa on arrival for Dutch passport holders is only allowed in certain situations for business travelers.
